So now I have a Droid, but the BT is not playing well with the Avic-D3.  Most of he time it will not auto-connect, and transferring contacts won't happen.

I've got some ideas though on how to resolve this though and if all goes well, I'll give you the low-down.  For starts though, grabbing the free app "Bluetooth File Transfer" is required as this is not a built-in function. You can check it out HERE or scan-and-go.

So look for an update either saying I failed, or an update with how you can do it as well.

Well in the process of this task, I killed my phone for a couple of days while playing with some ROMs.

It's back and rockin now my friends!  groovy

I am completely paired with contacts moved over to the AVIC-D3 from my DROID.  I found and followed the following directions on the net and they worked like a charm:

1. Downloaded "Bluetooth file transfer" app from market .

2. Exported contacts to SD card ( in menu options within contacts)

3. Bluetooth app is pretty easy to use, opens in file explorer style,
touch and hold the contacts (.vcf) and begin transfer, should find sync,
and connect if phone is already paired and you have selected add
contacts on sync.

DROID +  AVIC-D3 =   wave

Do let me know though if you have any issues and I'll dry to get you hooked up as well.

Just an update.

Things are working flawlessly in that every time I get in the Hummer, things sync up nicely and I have all contacts in place that were pushed to the AVIC.

Yea, I'd say life is good at this point.  Did you get yours working?  Need some help? waycool

The other thing that is really kewl is that just about anything that makes sound can be pumped over the stereo, including one of my favorites, Guitar Lite.

Careful though, this little app can be hugely addicting, and to be able to strum over the stereo makes it even more fun.  Anyone try the PRO version yet?  That looks exciting.

Take care,
