March 13, 2010 – Springfest – hosted by the Scottsdale Amateur Radio Club will be held at the Fort McDowell Casino on State Route 87, 2 miles north of Shea Blvd. Hamfest hours are 6 AM until noon. Table space donation – $10.00. ARCA meeting at 11:00 AM. VE testing (testing at 9 AM) , raffle prizes, RV parking (discounted; call number below)and refreshments will be available. Radisson Hotel rate for the weekend will be $119 instead of $200 per night. All you have to do is mention the Hamfest when registering. Vendors can come in on Friday March 12, after 12:00 PM.

This will be my first Hamfest, and judging by the talk on the radio all week, should be good times. I’m guessing the key here is to get there really early in order to take it all in.
